Proven to help Fishermen
Easy to Rig and Fit your Style
Whether you prefer a chicken rig, paternoster inline, or prefer our "deployment" method (clipped to line after hook-up), the Zeppelin is designed to be versatile and still effective.
A study from the Australian Government (DPIRD, 2021) proves the effectiveness of Sharkbanz Fishing at reducing shark depredation and enabling fishermen to land more fish.
The Zeppelin can be used to protect your catch when bottom fishing, wade fishing, and spearfishing. Similar to the tech, the ways to incorporate it are simple and effective.
The key to success is the placement of the device in relation to your catch.
Visit our Zeppelin Rigging page for the best methods/practices for maximizing effectiveness while minimizing device loss potential. Instructions are easy to follow and the device is simple to use.
Our rigging guidelines is essential reading before using the product.
Using patented magnetic technology researched and tested by marine biologists on predatory shark species, Sharkbanz Fishing tackle overwhelms a shark’s electroreception (sensitivity to electric fields), creating a highly unpleasant sensation that can stop the ocean’s Taxman in his tracks – protecting your catch, gear, and good time on the water. Sharkbanz Fishing tackle does not harm sharks or repel other fish, but it can repel stingrays, which also use electroreception, which is a huge benefit for wade fishing.
The Zeppelin is a proven shark deterrent technology based on years of research and product testing by marine biologists, fishermen, and the Sharkbanz team. Similar to other tackle gear, there are no outcome guarantees, but when used correctly, the Zeppelin is proven to reduce the occurrence of shark depredation (aka "getting sharked") and help enable fishermen to land more fish. Sharkbanz Fishing products can provide fisherman more time to land their catch and reduce catch & gear loss - offering new opportunities to bottom fish in areas previously unimaginable due to aggressive and conditioned sharks.
It’s important that you still diligently land your fish. Don’t simply let it hang out in a sharky area. Letting your catch soak may result in loss of gear and target fish. Keep it moving and land your fish! Longer fight times may allow shark habituation to occur. If positive results diminish, relocation may be necessary.
Special care should be taken with Sharkbanz Fishing tackle and sensitive boating equipment with compasses. If outside of its protective case, please ensure your Zeppelin is at least 24 inches (60 cm) distanced from your boat's GPS / compass equipment.
Placing your Zeppelin within 24 inches (60 cm) of the compass will cause the compass to display an inaccurate reading.
Avoid direct contact with any sensitive electronics (camera memory cards, hard drives, etc.) and Sharkbanz Technology, especially for prolonged periods of time.
Your Zeppelin (Sharkbanz.com only) purchase includes a unique heavy duty magneticially-shielded case that you should use to safely store your Zeppelin. When placed in its protective case, the Zeppelin will not damage sensitive electronic equipment.
As long as your Sharkbanz products are not exposed to temperatures over 140°F (60°C) for a significantly sustained period of time and the chassis is not physically damaged, then the magnetic technology will not lose its effectiveness.
Similar to other fishing gear, you can expect to replace your Sharkbanz Fishing gear from time to time should you lose a rig, but you should find excellent utility from your Zeppelin when you follow the correct uses and rigging guidelines.
If there is ever any Sharkbanz product issue, please contact us: connect@sharkbanz.com.
To prevent losing the Zeppelin to a snag, rig a lead below the device on lighter test. This way the additional lead will break off on the bottom structure and you won’t lose your Zeppelin. If you are using sinkers in conjunction with your Zeppelin, do not use steel sinkers. Use only lead or zinc sinkers when using the Zeppelin due to its magnetic properties.
We also highly recommend our Deployment method for rigging your Zeppelin to reduce the potential for loss. Visit our Rigging page to learn more.

I put the Zeppelin on the top of my deep drop right right after loosing a fish and my right to a shark. The next fish that we brought up had the shark circling, but left the fish alone. It was amazing!
Store owner replied:
Awesome Rick! Happy you're experiencing success with the Zeppelin and it sounds like you followed all the best rigging practices! Super important. Cheers!
I’m the owner operator of a 65 foot shrimp trawler . Saw the product online decided to give it a try and so far I am very impressed with it . At Some point we have a few hundred sharks of all different species around the boat and the shark bands have protected my catch multiple days.
Store owner replied:
Yessir Capt! Excited to chat more with you Charles and see how we can further support the Atlantic coastal shrimpers - don't need to pay any more in taxes!
I’m an avid fisherman here on the Texas coast. Here around the passes and beach front there are plenty of bulls and blacktops after the same fish I am. This summer a 6 foot bull decided he needed my basket of fish more than I did and proceeded to eat everything in it. This year I decided I had enough and invested in the this product. I was very surprised on how well it worked. I was even more surprised on how many sharks were close that I hadn’t even know where there. This product makes me a lot more comfortable in the water with them. It does just enough to send them running the other way. I will definitely be a customer for life. I have two now and will probably get a third keep you the good work and see you in the water.
Store owner replied:
Hey Mike, thanks so much for the detailed review, and very happy you discovered our full range of deterrent products! The Zeppelin is designed for this wade fishing (fish bag / cart) protection purposes but it's helpful to also wear the personal deterrents for added shark and stingray safety. We really appreciate your trust and support. Please stay in touch and let us know if there's anyway to further get the word out with your friends and wade fishing community : )
I purchased for my son who wades in a certain area where sharks are seasonally, he has a floating fish bag where the sharkbanz is hanging on, this is my second one.
Store owner replied:
Very cool, Kerry and smart thinking. The Zeppelin can be very effective for attaching to your fish bag to keep sharks away. Good for catch protection and reducing the risk. Thanks for caring and sharing!
I have my own bracelets, but we also take our dogs to the beach. Sharkbandz doesn’t currently make a solution for that… so I bought the Zepplins, zipped them into little black pouches, and clipped them to their harnesses! On these pictures you can spot a little black bag - that’s the shark off. The dogs are swimming in an inlet here with lots of fish activity. Great peace of mind.
As someone who dies for a living this product is a game changer.
Before I always had to worry about shadows and things that bumped me.
It was hard to concentrate on my job sometimes.
But with this product I have seen that they keep their distance.
Now that I've seen it firsthand my work is completed much quicker and more efficient.
This product is a game changer for all who enjoy saltwater activities.
Store owner replied:
Hey Matt, thanks so much for your kind words and so happy that you discovered our product and tech and that it's been put to good use in the dive space. We know the shadow feeling and inability to focus on things other than sharks when in the water. Take care and enjoy your time in the ocean!
Glad to have this device to help me feel more comfortable while wade fishing with a stringer of fish behind me.
Store owner replied:
Excellent use case of the Zeppelin, Sol and happy you've got some much needed catch protection on your stringer now!
Me and my wife waded three days at the Chandeleur Islands and caught lots of trout and hooked a few sharks but never had an issue of a shark coming close to our fish baskets or us. We both have a SHARKBANNZ tied to bottom of our baskets. We will be trying them again soon. I will get pics next trip. It does make us feel safer
Store owner replied:
Our team loves the Chandeleur Islands and have put the products to excellent use out there - Get in touch with Capt. Kyle Johnson for the best of times out there : ) Very happy you've been using the products in this manner, Thomas - excellent use case. They are also helpful for deterring stingrays when wade fishing.
this was my second one i've purchased the first one i have attached to my fish bag while fishing . my second i attached to my bait bucket . i hope i never need it but i like the sense of security and peace of mind i get from having them . unfortunately i dropped my second one somewhere in baffin bay while wade fishing ... very sad
Store owner replied:
Thanks for your trust and support Monty and happy that you're using the Zeppelin for added security and safety. Sorry you lost your first one - always feel free to email us if this happens again and we'll see how we can help out on another purchase with a discount or such. Cheers -
Been using it while wade fishing in the Laguna Madre bay south Texas area and so far no sharks around. Never have I encountered one out in the bay, however you can never be too safe out there. Better safe than sorry. I'll keep using it for peace of mind.
Store owner replied:
Thanks Rosendo - excellent risk reduction measure and tool for protecting fish bag or cart and for personal safety as well if you're using the wearable. Used by lots of people within wade fishing space!
The second one arrived…the first one somehow disappeared before it shipped. The company did not notice.
Seems unintrusive. I would like to see hard, experiment based data behind the theory….not anecdotes.
Store owner replied:
Hey Brian, shoot us an email at support@sharkbanz.com and let us see if we can help you out. Sounds like you don't have the Zeppelin rigged correctly - as you want the Zeppelin ideally 18-36" below the fish (grouper) so sharks, which mostly come from the bottom, encounter the field and have to get through it in order to bite the fish. Placing the device next to the fish can feel intuitive but it actually limits the effectiveness of the Zeppelin.
I'm a wadefisherman on the coast of Texas. Bad problems with sharks attacking my bag. Haven't used it enough to give feedback. The Spring and Summrr will be the test
Store owner replied:
We know how it can get down there, Ken! Appreciate you incorporating the Zeppelin for wade fishing. Best to attach to your fish bag to help keep sharks away.
Store owner replied:
Thanks Kerry - we wouldn't expect so but love to hear it all the same! Much appreciate your trust and support : ) Enjoy it out there!
Designed primarily for fisherman, the zeppelin can be easily adapted to a paddleboard too. Since air acts a barrier to the electromagnetic field given off by a zeppelin, attaching it to the tail of a paddleboard with a long enough leader to drag the zeppelin in the water, or to the fin screw with a wonderbolt (if you still have one), the zeppelin will remain in the water. If attacked and knocked off your board from the front, beyond the reach of the magnetic field, a Sharkbanz 2 may be worn on the ankle.
Store owner replied:
Thanks Bob and great use of both products! Couldn't have advised better ourselves : ) More and more folks are using the Zeppelin for this safety purpose - re SUP, kayak, wade fishing, etc. Especially since the Zeppelin is our most powerful deterrent product.
My kayak was attacked by a tiger shark in May of 2023. Luckily I managed to stay upright and didn't get hurt but I had my feet in the water and things could have been very bad if the shark had decided to go for my foot instead of hitting the kayak from the bow. I know use a Zepplin when my feet are gonna be in the water.
Store owner replied:
Glad you're OK Scott and thanks for sharing! Smart thinking using the Zeppelin on the Kayak for added safety and deterrent field. We advise people to hang off front and/or back in areas where larger, predatory sharks like Tigers and Whites live - such as HI, CA, MA, FL, MA, and ME.
Store owner replied:
Awesome Christopher! Keep us posted on your success @sharkbanz_fishing (instagram) or email at support@sharkbanz.com - and make sure you're keep up with all the latest best practice rigging strategies: https://www.sharkbanz.com/pages/rigging-fishing-zeppelin
Great product that works. I have it attached to my fishing donut and observed it deter incoming sharks.
Store owner replied:
Awesome John - such a good use for the Zeppelin.
I watched successful video of Patrick Price of "Daymaker Charters" in Stuart, FL fish/catch with these without the snapper/grouper getting eaten by sharks. He tragically passed away from Covid a few months later leaving his young son and wife. His charter boat is still being used today, by another family friend Capt. I believe he promoted and marketed your product to many people. It would be great if you could/would reach out to his wife and send them some Zeppelin's. Just a thought of giving back to someone who gave so much, and I know helped out your Co. They actually named recently sunk wrecks in his name off of Stuart, FL. He did a lot of service to people in the Bahamas after those bad storms a couple years ago. Thank you.
I have one of these. Haven't lost a fish to a shark yet ... been on the same boat the same day maybe lost 3 fish to sharks without it .... Just saying I have got my money back in fish value already ... I'm gonna keep using mine until I lose it then straight back to the shop for another one. $100 on a tackle is just part of the fishing game. I use the shark bandz for spearing as well ... still have both legs so far too!
Deployed two off the boat in Exmouth last week over several days. Not one sharking in spots I'd given up on. Hooked 2 sharks when we didnt drop them. IMO they worked.
I was a bit skeptical at first until I used it. Our first two grouper and 3 or 4 red snapper got eat in half by sharks. So I sent this down and didn't have a single shark eat afterwards. Pretty crazy and it made me a believer. We have had tons of redfish eaten lately and I'll be sending this down with the baits.
I have fished with the Delph's before. This purchase is really because of their sponsorship of your products. I will try it out and tag Sharkbanz in my post. Thanks,
Ok, I thought this product was all hype but I was interested in giving it a try. I purchased two and went Amberjack fishing out of Venice, LA at one of my favorite spots that produces huge AJs. Problem with this spot is that the tax man (sharks) is always lurking to snatch your catch. We pull up to my fishing location and after losing 4 Amberjack to sharks, I said let's give the @sharkbanz sinker a shot. 5 minutes after first drop with sharkbanz, we hook up and pull our catch to the boat. Looking past the fish there was a dozen sharks bouncing off an invisible force field around or catch. It was the most remarkable thing I've ever seen. I was sold at the very moment but didn't want one fish to be the end result. So I sent another line down without the sharkbanz and sure enough, tax man got it. Dropped sharkbanz rig 3 more times and had the same results as the first drop with it rigged... all 3 fish landed with sharks circling to steal the catch but couldn't get closer than 4' to the catch. I'm still in shock with how well this works! If you are skeptical about this product, buy one and see for yourself how well it works. It's truly remarkable!
